Our Story

Chris & Sherry

We are just an ordinary family from a small town in Georgia. We have been married for twenty years and have four children. Never in our wildest dreams would we have guessed that our path would taken us to the places it has. We have lived on four continents during our marriage and have had the privilege of serving in global missions since 2010. Since that time, we have experienced first hand the difficult task of cross-cultural gospel ministry. Our heart and mission in London is to serve churches and those who lead them. Our goal is simple: to see healthy shepherds leading the church to make disciples and plant churches. â€‹â€‹â€‹

Why London

London is a global city with the nations on its doorstep. While it does have a rich history of Christianity, it has largely been swallowed by the rise of false religion and unbelief. Its not all bad news though! â€‹You don't have to look hard to find stories of gospel hope in London. There are churches filled with believers from all walks of life who have been transformed by the power of the gospel. Today there is a tremendous opportunity to reach those from all corners of the earth from this one city.

The Vision

The city needs healthy churches that preach the gospel, make disciples, and plant churches that are lead by healthy shepherds. While there are a number of good gospel preaching churches spread around London, the massive task remains to reach this city.

Many churches are doing their best to reach their village with the gospel, but their resources are limited. The work is slow and difficult and can be a very lonely task. This often leads to discouragement and burnout. Our mission is to come alongside these churches to offer support, to provide care, and to build links between them because we believe that together we do do more than we could ever do alone.

We have spent years cultivating relationships with local area pastors and churches in and around London who are doing good gospel work. Our goal is work with these churches to provide ongoing care, training, equipping, and to foster partnerships among them so that together we can reach the city of London with the gospel.

We are working alongside the Slade Evangelical Church, are partnered with the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches, and have been sent out by our home church Prince Avenue Baptist Church in Bogart, GA. Together, we believe that we can see more churches and their leaders strengthened and equipped to see the vital work of gospel ministry spread throughout London and beyond.

The Mission

Equip the church - Jesus loves the church and he is actively building his church. He has called each of his followers not only to himself, but to his body of believers. In Ephesians 4v11-16, the apostle Paul says that those in the church are to be equipped for the work of the ministry. This work is to be carried out for the building up of the body of Christ for the good of the church and the glory of God. Our desire is to see churches have the tools and resources that they need in order to carry out their God-given task in their local community.

Encourage the shepherds - Pastoring, while rewarding and fulfilling as it is, can be incredibly difficult and often a lonely office to fill. They give themselves to prayer and study, they preach and teach the gospel to others. Their life is one of sacrificial service who pour themselves out to those in the church. But too often these shepherds are discouraged, lonely, without friendship, and under-resourced. I've been there before and know what it's like to not apply the gospel that I am preaching to my own life. We all need the reminder that God is with us, that the gospel gives us hope, and that we aren't alone in the work. We aim to be a Barnabas to those pastors in need.

Establish partnerships - Working together for the sake of the gospel is not a novel idea. Throughout Scripture we see the work of the ministry being carried out not by lone rangers who set out on their own, but by those who choose to work together through local churches. When churches come together they can accomplish far more than they could on their own. London is made up of mostly small churches, many that are lead by one pastor or none at all. This severely limits what one church can do no matter how big their vision might be. Our goal is to see churches working together, sharing their resources, and building connections that see their communities reached with the gospel.
